For years I have wanted to open a quilt shop! I was extremely excited when we were able to open our online store! It meant that I could share my passion for quilting and FABRIC with others. Now we have been so blessed to be able to take the next step our in Quilt Shop Journey. In September we found a location for our first retail store. My poor husband in addition to running the business (I get to do the cool stuff like picking fabric, designing stuff and sewing) now had to get a retail location ready AND prep for our first Quilt Show. As always, he amazed me with getting it all done. We did a soft opening over the last two weeks to help us work on store layout, figure out inventory tracking and other things, ensuring that we had the right inventory and so on. We are closing from October 17th - October 27th to get things ready.
So many of you stopped by and visited the store. You have no idea how incredible it is for me to hear you tell me how much you LOVE the fabric. When I first started buying for the store I told my best friend that I was worried that no one would like the fun, colorful fabrics that I loved. So hearing that from each of you makes me so very excited and thrilled. It has been a wild two weeks for us learning things and figuring out what we need to do. Now is the harder part, getting the last of everything moved over, making the changes we need to make a better experience for all of you.
AND we are working on the classroom/meeting area. That won't open on the 28th (we still need to finish painting, waiting for furniture and a bunch of stuff my husband has to build), but hoping it will make its debut before Thanksgiving.
